Welcome Letter from the Founder
Canterbury Court has been a vision of mine for many years. Long before we opened the doors to the west tower in 1999, I dreamed of building an assisted living seniors’ residence that offered both the warmth of home and the luxuries of a five-star hotel.
Early on, before the blueprints were drawn, I asked myself, “Where would I want to live?” After raising five children and working hard as an entrepreneur in the landscaping, car sales and real estate industry, I knew I wanted my golden years to be rewarding—gourmet food, good friends, great care.
I also thought about where I would want my own mother to live. For her, I also wanted to know she was always safe and smiling—supportive staff, a secure building, and a social calendar filled with activities.
In fact, my mom, Carrie, was here with us at Canterbury Court for seven years. A few months after she moved in, I was speaking to residents during a celebration. Someone passed the microphone to my mom and asked her how she liked it so far. She replied, “This is the best place in the world.”
What has made Canterbury Court so special for hundreds of residents like my mom? In Canada, it’s easy to find glamorous retirement residences with fancy suites. But that’s not what makes an address ‘home.’
At Canterbury Court, we know how you like your eggs. We knock on your door to make sure you’re OK. We answer your requests with a smile and, “Yes, of course.” We are a family.
Canterbury offers the finest care, dining and amenities as well as beautiful, functional suites, a host of activities, and a secure, convenient location. We like to call it five-star living.
Welcome to Canterbury Court.
